Gently relax fine lines – for a smooth, fresh appearance

Botox

Botulinum toxin is a proven method for gently smoothing expression lines and relaxing facial features. Through targeted reduction of muscle activity, the skin appears smoother, finer, and refreshed – without losing natural expressiveness.

During the personal consultation, PD Dr. med. Eva M. Rüegg analyzes your individual facial expressions, any asymmetries in muscle tone, and the affected areas. This allows the treatment to be precisely dosed and tailored to your face.

The injection is performed using ultra-fine needles with minimal discomfort. The botulinum toxin reduces signal transmission between nerve and muscle – the overlying skin visibly relaxes. The effect typically lasts three to four months, though depending on the treated area, it may persist for up to six months.

With subtle, individually adjusted dosing, Dr. Rüegg places particular emphasis on natural results: you look fresher without losing expressiveness – for a harmonious, not “overdone” appearance.

A Comprehensive Guide

Effect

01

Botulinum toxin relaxes overactive facial muscles that cause fine to moderate wrinkles. Through reduced muscle tension, the skin smooths out, and the facial expression appears softer, clearer, and more refreshed – without altering natural expressions.

Expression

02

A good Botox result is based on selectively influencing only specific muscle areas. This preserves your individual facial expression completely – only unwanted wrinkle formation is reduced. The art lies in precise selection and dosing.

Areas

03

The most commonly treated areas are forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. Additionally, subtle eyebrow lifts, gentle opening of the eye area, or treatment of the mouth corners can be performed. Botox is particularly suitable for the upper facial area, namely the forehead and lateral eye region, and can create a harmonized appearance there.

Dosage

04

The right amount determines naturalness and balance. Too much can lead to a frozen effect, too little to insufficient results. Dr. Rüegg doses deliberately and precisely – conservatively, yet adequately – so that visible improvement occurs and the result can be gradually refined if needed.

Process

05

After treatment, the toxin requires several days to take full effect. During this time, the muscles progressively relax. After approximately two weeks, the final result appears, looking clear, natural, and even.

Duration

06

Botox offers a temporary but easily repeatable effect. With regular touch-ups, results can be stabilized long-term, as overactive muscles calm down over time. The effect typically lasts 3–4 months, sometimes up to 6 months depending on the treated area.

Safety

07

Botulinum toxin has been an established, scientifically well-researched medication for decades. When properly administered, the treatment is very safe. The experience of the treating physician is crucial, as she understands the fine anatomy and can avoid complications.

Procedure

Consultation & Analysis

In a personal consultation, PD Dr. med. Eva M. Rüegg evaluates your facial expressions, the activity of individual muscles, and the depth of wrinkles. Together, you define the desired outcome and determine which areas will be treated. This creates an individual treatment plan.

01

Treatment

The injections are performed using ultra-fine needles, making the treatment virtually painless. Dr. Rüegg precisely places the botulinum toxin in the muscles responsible for wrinkle formation. The session takes only a few minutes and is particularly gentle.

02

Effect & Follow-up

The first changes appear after a few days, with the complete result visible after approximately two weeks. If desired, a brief follow-up appointment can be scheduled where fine adjustments can be made to ensure an absolutely natural and balanced result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here we answer the most important questions about Botox treatment.

How does Botox actually work?

Botulinum toxin reduces signal transmission between nerve and muscle. This relaxes the treated muscle, and the overlying skin appears smoother and finer. Natural expressiveness typically remains intact, while unwanted tension is selectively reduced.

The effect begins after 2–4 days and is fully developed after approximately 10–14 days. The result typically lasts 3–4 months, though depending on musculature, dosage, and individual factors, it may persist for up to 6 months.

The treatment is performed using very fine needles and is generally well tolerated. Most patients experience only brief, mild pinpricks that are usually perceived as barely painful. The procedure takes only a few minutes and typically leaves no noticeable traces, allowing immediate return to normal daily activities.

For several hours, sports, sauna, and vigorous massaging of the treated areas should be avoided. Normal activities are immediately possible. The result develops gradually and appears more natural day by day.

At corrigé, Botox treatments are performed exclusively by PD Dr. med. Eva M. Rüegg – an experienced specialist in plastic-aesthetic surgery. Through precise dosing, thorough anatomical expertise, and a clear focus on naturalness, a fresh, relaxed appearance is achieved without a frozen effect. The treatment is individually planned, aesthetically refined, and medically safely performed.
